Safi — Morocco’s Ceramics Capital

Safi has been Morocco’s centre of pottery-making for centuries, its Potters’ Quarter still filled with wood-fired kilns turning out the blue-and-white ceramics seen across the country. Beyond the workshops, this working Atlantic port city holds a Portuguese fortress overlooking the harbour, a compact medina, and one of Morocco’s biggest sardine fishing fleets.
